#115 - Analysis of Furnace Gases, or ORSAT Analysis
This is an excellent application used by many companies in determining the concentration range of combustible products.

Analysis: All components in concentration range of combustion products. For accurate analysis of hydrogen, a carrier gas other than helium must be used. Neon is excellent, except for its high cost. Components are: CH4, CO2, C2H6, H2O, H2, O2, N2, and CO.

#158 - Low ppm Analysis of Impurities in Hydrogen
Welding supply and specialty gas distributors have recently found it necessary to do their own testing and certification on the gases they provide to their customers. The GOW-MAC Series 580 System Gas Chromatograph with our patented Discharge Ionization Detector (DID) is successfully being used to analyze the impurities in bulk gases to the low parts per million level.

Analysis: A 2 cc sample containing 3.2 ppm argon, 2 ppm N2 and 2.9 ppm CH4 was analyzed in under 9 minutes. The GOW-MAC Model 75-850 Hydrogen Separator was used to isolate and remove the H2 from the sample, thereby leaving only the impurities in the sample to be detected by the DID.
