Instrument Repair and Service

Repairs for all GOW-MAC instruments are handled at our Bethlehem, PA U.S.A. facility. Instruments should be returned to us in their original packaging or similar, sturdy container and insured against damages.

In order to protect our employees from exposure to various hazards, a Health and Safety Declaration Form MUST be completed and returned to us for every item being sent in for repair. A form is placed into every instrument's operating manual but if yours is missing, click here to download a PDF version.

Complete the document in its entirety, sign it, and either fax [(610) 954-0599] or e-mail [repairs@gow-mac.com] it to GOW-MAC Instrument Co. Repair Dept, BEFORE returning the product. The instrument/device/part being returned will not be accepted into GOW-MAC?s facility until we receive this completed document. Once the product has been approved for return by our Chemical Safety Officer, an acknowledgement will be promptly issued to you with notification of your Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number and the procedure to follow for returning the product. A Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number is necessary to return an item for repair.

TCD Repair/Replacement Service

GOW-MAC manufactures filaments and new replacement thermal conductivity detectors (TCD) for all GOW-MAC instruments and most major gas chromatographs on the market today, including many older instruments. Manufacturer's cells we repair or replace include:

Beckman, Bendix, Burrell, Carlo Erba, Thermo Finnigan (Finnigan, Tremetrics, Tracor), Fisher Scientific (Victoreen), Agilent (Hewlett Packard), Intersmat, Nuclear Chicago (Barber Coleman), Packard/Becker, Perkin Elmer, Philips Electronic, Siemens, Toyo, and Varian

If the manufacturer of your TCD is not listed, contact us with the manufacturer and model number and we'll determine if replacement filaments or a replacement TCD is available.
